How Lab Projects are scoped and priced
Lab Projects are paid service engagements, or provided at smaller scopes alongside an active Pathwright Enterprise Plan and/or Season Pass. They are not a subscription, and they do not include an ongoing PathMX license.
Before work begins, we write down the outcome, the starting materials, who reviews the work, a budget cap, and anything we are not doing.
Price
We bill for the work we do, against that written cap. Each project is priced uniquely. Typical pilots fall between $2,000 and $55,000, depending on the source material, how much review your team needs, how long we work together, and how tightly the experiment is contained.
We look at your course or other source material and give an estimate before we start. Third-party costs — model usage, hosting, storage, extra tools — are separate unless we include them in writing.
If the lab is useful, later work gets its own scope: more courses, more languages, hosting, support, or a broader rollout.
What you keep
Your organization owns the project-specific source we create for you: the Markdown, maps, configuration, and related materials for that project. You can keep using and developing that source after the lab ends. There is no default ongoing PathMX fee for that agreed use.
We keep Pathwright, PathMX, and the reusable tools used to build and serve that source. Using those tools beyond the agreed lab is a separate conversation.
Fit
We take on a small number of Labs in a season, and only when the need overlaps work we are already exploring. Timing depends on how ready the materials are, who can review, and our capacity.
